Make "Getting Published" Your Resolution in 2023
We are ready to help make your publishing dreams come true!
Happy New Year, friends! We love the start of a new year. It’s the perfect time to reflect on all that’s been accomplished over the previous twelve months and plan for what lies ahead in the coming year.
As we look back over 2022, we can’t help but be thankful for all the wonderful things that happened, like:
Launching The Unknown Authors Club
Publishing our first book
Meeting and making new author friends along the way
Peeking over the fence into 2023, there are exciting things on the horizon for our little team. Stay tuned! We look forward to sharing them with you each month.
Publish with The Unknown Authors Club
With an entire year of learning under our belts and a hugely successful published anthology, The Unknown Authors Club is positioned for great things in 2023.
Publishing is at the forefront of our agenda for the new year, and we already have four books slated to be published or begin the process of publishing in 2023.
We will kick things off in mid-February with the release of our own Leslee Stewart’s book, A Little Bit About A Lot of Things: Finding Freedom in the Funny, Fearful & Unforgettable Moments of Life.
We are committed to publishing high-quality writing and relatable subject matter, and Leslee’s book accomplishes both. More books will follow as the year unfolds and you’ll hear about them here first!
Curious about publishing with The UAC? Let us know! We are committed to helping unknown authors (like ourselves) achieve their publishing dreams. Let us help you achieve yours in 2023.
Wishing You Joy in the New Year
Here at The UAC, we've been discussing introducing creative writing pieces into our newsletters. To kick things off, we asked our own Jodi Cowles to share one of her pieces of poetry.
Here’s what Jodi had to say about the inspiration behind this piece:
This is a poem I wrote last year when we were still trapped in Turkey, struggling to get our daughter’s adoption completed. I’ll admit to you, that was a season I had to grasp pretty hard to encounter joy. After eight long years and a series of miracles, we made it back to the States in 2022 and were able to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends. I can say that today, the JOY is much easier to find.

You Gave To Me Joy
by Jodi Cowles
i asked You for happiness
ease and delight
i asked for green fields
and to walk in the light
so You brought me down low
to a place underground
where the walls closed me in
and new giants were found
i asked You for strength
and for so much more faith
for the muscles to run
and to finish this race
so You mapped out a plan
gruesome as it was grand
and You walked with me through
holding tight to my hand
i asked for still waters
You gave me the storm
i asked for smooth roads
but rough alps were the norm
i asked You for quiet
for peace and no strife
so You came in guns blazing
and tore up my life
i asked for desires
near and dear to my heart
but my heart so deceitful
had to be ripped apart
because You weren't content
with the stench of defeat
and dead bones cannot rise
when they’re sealed in concrete
i asked for one bud
just one bloom in the ash
but You had better plans
You had gold in Your stash
and You wanted much more
than my mind could engage
for my tiny, small part
of Your much grander stage
so i bow to You now
lift Your name to the sky
for Your plans were much better
than any i’d tried
i asked You for dirt
and small toys to enjoy
i asked You for happiness
but You gave to me Joy
