Do you ever feel as if you're alone in your journey to master your writing style, finish your book, or figure out the hundreds of things you need to remember to be successful as a published indie author?
You’re not alone. I can tell you that for sure, because alone is how I felt a couple years ago. I’d been writing for more than 20 years, but always by myself. All that changed when Rachael Mitchell, Leslee Stewart and I met in a Punchline Agency writing cohort. We had so much fun getting to know one another and talking about writing and publishing, that soon after, we launched The Unknown Authors Club with the goal of amplifying the voices of unknown authors, regardless of influencer status.
Last October, we published 15 of the best authors you haven’t yet read in our first anthology, The Life of an Unknown Author. Then we thought, we’ve learned so much and this has been so fun working together—why don’t we launch a publishing house? This year we’ve got four books coming out under our little boutique, part-time, passion-project of an imprint. What a wild and exciting ride it’s been!
Along the way, we’ve had some cool and unexpected opportunities pop up. One of those is an email we got about a month ago asking us to join the Write, Publish, Profit 6.0 Infostack. What is that? Well, to be honest, I had to look it up as well. Here’s the blurb:
Every writer faces the challenges of breaking through the barriers of their own writing skills, navigating the publishing maze, making sense of book marketing, and growing their list of readers into fans, all while trying not to burn out from dealing with twenty things pulling them in different directions at once.
Wouldn’t it be great to have the knowledge, support, and resources you need to unlock your true writing potential, improve the way you write, publish, and succeed as an author…and have all of it right at your fingertips?
Well, I’ve got some great news because the ultimate all-in-one writer’s resource has just been released for a limited time that will show you how to:
✅ Unlock access to the best tools and resources to enhance your writing skills, connect with professionals, and self-edit with confidence
✅ Overcome the roadblocks and hurdles that prevent many indie authors from achieving published success
✅ Streamline your book marketing efforts, save valuable time, and make your book stand out in a crowded market
✅ Find your target readers, turn them into devoted superfans, and grow a loyal and engaged readership
✅ Align your goals with your abilities so you can succeed in the fast-paced world of publishing
We were asked to participate by including our anthology in the stack, which, as you might imagine, we were thrilled to do. Short of dancing on TikTok, Rachael, Leslee and I will do just about anything to amplify and celebrate unknown authors!
(Although we have been known to dance)
I encourage you to click on any of the plentitudinous links we’ve included and take a look at the infostack. At last count, there were 41 resources, you just might find something you can’t live without.
You should also be aware that this stack is only available for one week, and one week only—from June 20-27. That’s right, it’s now!
And as per everything in this current age, I’m sure you won’t be surprised to discover that each and every one of the lovely links we’ve provided, will, if clicked, provide us a bit of affiliate change to continue our mission here at the UAC, at no extra cost to you. Take a look!
Another amazing and unexpected opportunity that dropped into our laps a couple months ago was a summer intern! Let me tell you, that made us feel like our boutique company was going places!
We’ve had to be a smidge more professional on our weekly calls, but other than that—in case you’re reading this because you’re wondering whether or not to hire Paige—we have nothing but rave reviews about the talents she’s bringing to us! We’ll let her say a few words about herself.
Hi, all! My name is Paige, and I'm so excited to be the UAC's first intern! I'm currently a rising senior at Vanderbilt University, where I major in English with minors in business and Spanish. Over the summer, I'm staying at home in Redondo Beach, California, and working on various publishing tasks for the lovely ladies of the UAC, as well as continuing with my student job as a Vanderbilt writing tutor. I also do some copy writing work for the Gilgamesh Art & Culture Foundation—check them out online if you're in the LA area and interested in the art of the Assyrian diaspora! In my free time, I enjoy watching historical dramas on Netflix, eating Sun & Fork brunches with friends, and trying to convince those friends to read whatever book I'm reading without letting on that I've forgotten all the character names.
Write on, friends!

I had a cool idea of just getting HELP with my pitch letters: not taking any direct role in the quest, and not providing any guarantee of results. What's not to like, if you're in the business? You don't have to do anything except offer advice, plus you get paid without your name being used in any way.
Nonetheless, Kate McKean gave me the standard snooty "no pitches here" response. Don't waste your money on this channel.
